The Pierces

This week I seem to be back to my old tricks of being perpetually busy yet simultaneously achieving fuck all. Actually that's not true, I have successfully boiled an egg to perfection, several times in fact. You may call me Delia from now on. Culinary victories aside, I really don't know what I have done with this week besides scouting out the best local cup of coffee (I'll get back to you on that one) and reading/writing/editing stuff for my uni newspaper. This morning my bank account welcomed in my student loan with arms more open than a 24 hour Tesco, I celebrated with yet more money frittering and purchased tickets to see the Pierces in October.

I saw them last winter too and their haunting melodies will no doubt fill my ears with bittersweet joy once more.
Downloaded their new album this morning and I'm hoping that despite the shift to a major label the Pierces won't lose there Lynchian charm (sorry, been getting way too engrossed in Twin Peaks) . My ears first pricked up to them after I heard 'Secret' in Gossip Girl (season one I think?) and I was attracted to their Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge because it sounded like a creepy little carousel spinning round in my brain, simultaneously delightful and downright weird.
